Same Run Plane Shooter Guide
Same Run Plane Shooter is Ply Yard's free mode for sharing seed links and comparing scores. No download or account is required. The link's run parameter carries a random seed, which each device uses to initialize the game before playing and scoring independently. It does not create a live multiplayer room, synchronize positions, lives, or scores, or guarantee identical enemy conditions. Before playing, check that you have the same seed, speed, and playfield size. After finishing, compare the scores from those runs, not your browsers' all-time best scores.
Generate, Share, and Keep a Seed
Seed parameters. A random seed initializes the pseudorandom number generator; it is not a room ID or a saved game. The run parameter accepts 4 to 12 lowercase English letters or digits. If it is missing or invalid when you open the page, the game generates a 6-character seed, adds it to the address, and displays it in the information panel.
Copying the link. Select Copy link in the information panel and send the full current address. The other player opens it and uses its valid seed. The link does not transfer your score, lives, or actions, and creates no spectator session. If clipboard access is unavailable or the button does not show Copied, copy the full address directly from the address bar.
Restarting or changing seeds. New run and the Restart button at game over keep the current seed and speed setting but discard your progress. Reloading a link with a valid run parameter also starts from the beginning, not from a saved position. To generate a new seed, remove the run parameter from the address and reload, then copy the new address. Selecting New run does not change the seed.
Comparison Conditions and Limits
Random values and enemies. The same seed initializes the same sequence of pseudorandom values, but enemies also depend on playfield dimensions, speed settings, and the order in which those values are used. Background stars use the same sequence. Resizing the window regenerates stars and consumes more random values. Sharing a seed therefore does not share a complete enemy replay or guarantee identical competition conditions.
Checks before comparing. Match the run value and speed setting, then use matching playfield widths and heights where possible. Equal window sizes do not necessarily produce equal playfields: page layout and Focus mode can change the dimensions. Choose your display settings before starting, and avoid resizing, rotating the device, or toggling Focus mode during play. These precautions reduce differences but cannot eliminate the effects of frame scheduling and action timing.
Comparing completed runs. The game does not collect both players' results or provide a public leaderboard. After finishing, record the seed, speed, run score, enemies destroyed, and wave. Exchange screenshots or use an agreed communication channel. Same Run suits friendly score comparisons and repeat practice, not competitive rankings verified under standardized conditions.
Controls, Scoring, and Saved Results
Independent controls. Each opened link runs one plane independently on that device. Use the arrow keys or drag on a computer, or drag on a phone or tablet. Your plane fires upward automatically. Use the Bomb button or space bar to clear current enemies and bullets, followed by an 8-second cooldown. Pausing stops wave timers, bomb cooldowns, and post-hit invincibility on your device, not the other player's.
Run rules. You start with 3 lives. Each enemy destroyed by shots or a bomb earns 10 points. Clearing bullets earns no points; enemies leaving the playfield earn no points and cost no lives. Unless you are invincible, a collision with an enemy or enemy bullet costs 1 life. If lives remain, you gain approximately 1.15 seconds of post-hit invincibility. Your run ends at zero lives, independently of the other player's progress.
Progress and records. The link does not save progress. Reloading, closing the page, or selecting New run discards the current run. Only after you lose your last life does a score above the previous record become your best score. It is saved in the current browser's local storage, does not sync across browsers or devices, and is deleted when you clear the site's data.
What best score means. Solo, local co-op, Same Run, and all speed settings share one best score, without separate records by seed or difficulty. That record may come from a different mode or seed, so it is not the result of this comparison. Record the score from the run you just finished.

A Seed Is Not a Complete Replay
A seed sets the starting point of the random sequence. It does not record when every enemy appears, how you move, or when you use bombs. The same random value maps to different horizontal enemy positions in playfields of different widths. Additional resizing also changes which values are used next. If enemies appear in different positions or with different types, check display dimensions and setting changes first. Matching seeds alone do not prove that the actual runs match.

Compare Run Scores, Not Records
Agree on a seed and speed before playing, then save a screenshot of your run score, enemies destroyed, and wave at game over. Do not capture only Best score: it may come from solo play, local co-op, or a different seed. The score and destroyed-enemy count describe the scoring outcome. The wave records how far you progressed, but does not prove you faced identical threats. Exchange results through your agreed communication channel; the page does not submit or validate them.

Practice Evasion and Bomb Timing
New run restarts with your current seed and speed, letting you test positioning without replaying every detail of the previous run. Keep display settings unchanged and review late lateral dodges, excessive pursuit, or limited corner space. Then try a different route or an earlier bomb. Change one action at a time, recording the run score and what caused each hit. This makes differences easier to assess than changing speed, window size, and seed together. Watch the current enemies rather than relying entirely on memory of the previous run.

Same Run FAQ
Is Same Run free, and do I need an account?
Same Run Plane Shooter offers free seed-link sharing and score comparisons, with no download or account required. Each player controls one plane in their own browser. No host account or second account is needed.
Can we play live co-op or spectate?
No. Same Run does not create a live room, show the other player's plane, sync lives or scores, or provide spectating. Each opened link starts an independent run on that device. For two players controlling planes together, use local co-op on one device.
What does the link contain besides a seed?
The run parameter contains a random seed, not your score, lives, or actions. The copy button copies the full current address, not just the seed, so any other query parameters are included too. Check the address before sharing it. The game does not add player names or scores to the seed parameter.
Why can enemies differ with the same seed?
A seed only initializes a pseudorandom sequence. Playfield dimensions affect enemy positions, and speed settings and frame scheduling affect gameplay. Resizing also regenerates background stars, consuming more random values. Matching seeds do not guarantee identical enemy conditions; matching settings only reduces differences.
Does restarting or reloading change the seed?
New run and Restart at game over keep the current seed but discard progress. Reloading a link with a valid run parameter also keeps the seed and starts from the beginning; check the speed setting again. The page generates a seed automatically only when the parameter is missing or invalid.
How do I generate a new seed?
Remove the run parameter from the current address and reload. The page generates a 6-character seed. Copy the new address for the other player to open. No host action or simultaneous start is required. Selecting New run does not change the seed.
What if the copy button does not work?
Clipboard access depends on browser support and permissions. If Copy link does not change to Copied, manually copy the full address from the address bar. Check that it contains a valid run parameter, then send it through your communication app.
Are scores compared or ranked automatically?
No. Each device scores independently, without collecting the other player's result or providing a public leaderboard. Exchange run scores or screenshots after finishing. Your browser's best score spans modes, seeds, and speeds, so it is not the result of this comparison.
Does the other player disconnecting affect me?
No. The devices have no live room connection; game timers and state run independently. The other player pausing or closing the page does not pause your run. Once loaded, your game does not depend on the other player staying online.
Can the link restore progress or sync records?
No. The link transfers only a seed, not saved progress or a best score. Reloading, closing the page, or selecting New run discards current progress. After you lose your last life, a score above the previous record is saved as the current browser's best. Clearing the site's data deletes that record.
